Modena Payments OÜ is a licensed EU Payment Institution, headquartered in Estonia. We are part of SRINI OÜ — a group of engineers, operators and compliance professionals who've spent the last decade building and regulating financial products across Europe.
The thesis
Legacy PIs were built for a pre-marketplace world.
Lemonway, Mangopay and the rest were the right answer in 2012. Platforms have moved on. Their engineering expectations have moved on. The regulatory bar has moved up. The incumbents have not meaningfully moved in a decade. Modena exists to close that gap.
